Standardizing Thank-You Card Attribution

Proposal for Sign-Off  ·  InterVarsity
Current State

Thank-you cards for shared-account donors are handled with per-AD creative latitude — script, tone, and card look vary by program. As the GAPS 2.0 Thank You card writers scale nationally, that becomes unmanageable.

Proposed Change

Sign all thank-you cards:

[Writer's name], InterVarsity

The account the donor gives to is still named in the body of the card. The signing line is the only thing that changes.

Why This Is the Right Call

Scale makes consistency essential. The GAPS 2.0 Thank You card writers will process tens of thousands of thank-yous annually — we cannot customize scripts at that volume. We want to sign the thank-you cards from the actual person writing the card, and credit InterVarsity.

What Staff Should Know
  • Staff are always welcome to thank their shared-account donors personally, on top of what the GAPS 2.0 Thank You card writers send.
  • If they don't, those donors are still being well-thanked.
  • Staff who have been paying for a premium thank-you service now receive that same resourcing at no cost. The trade-off is creative direction — the script and card look are set.
Ask
